I do believe that using early versions of Toast in Classic will render it useless. You'll need to boot into 9.x.x in order to use your burner with versions of Toast prior to 5. Your other option would be to simply purchase the latest version of Toast (6) or buy Toast 5. As for your Scanner there's VueScan. It's an X version scanning software that supports quite a few scanners.
