Hi, The 80 GB Seagate Barracuda IDE drive in my PM8600 will not mount, It is attached to a Sonnet Tempo ATA 133 PCI card. The drive is partitioned in 4 equal segments. Norton Systemworks will show the 4 partitions in the Disk Doctor window, with their proper names but only after using the "show missing discs" command.
Both the drive and the Sonnet Tempo show up in the Apple System Profiler but the partitions do not. The drive shows up with SCSI Probe, as well, but it will not mount. I get the feeling that the directory is probably hosed but Diskwarrior doesn't see the drive. If anyone has any ideas on how to ressurect this thing, I'd sure like to hear them. The system: PM8600/300 w/Sonnet G4/800 upgrade, Radeon 7000, Belkin USB card, the Sonnet ATA 133 card, LiteOn 52x CD-RW (internal IDE running off the Tempo card), 768 MB RAM, OS 9.1. This all astarted yesterday when it hung up during a cold boot, after the startup screen loaded but before extensions began to load. When I did a hard reset, I got the floopy icon with flashing question mark. Thanks, John -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
