It seems like the Eudora temp trash file contents revert to the inbox after a crash. Will Eudora be remembered in Recent Applications on restart.? If so, then an Applescript in the Startup items folder could tell Eudora to empty trash on reboot. Before the content can go back to the inbox. If a script will work upon a program as it launches
Maybe Apple figures we know how to do this !
Try: Settings --> Miscellaneous--> empty trash on quit?
But Paul, the case we are referring to here is that of the machine crashing while eudora is running. Whne the original poster rebooted his inbox had 7000 messages going back two years. he could not figure out where they came from.
But what is needed is a way to flush the temp trash file in Eudora before reboot.
Since the machine is not " quit " properly the setting you suggest which many of us already use won't do the trick.
