(Groan) Here we go again.... I was just zoomin' along happily w/ my Cable Modem, connect to a 2-port router, itself connected to my office PM 7300 and my entertainment center's PM 7600...
But NOW my wife wants high-speed internet on her PeeCee desktop & her Wallstreet ....upstairs! Of the two ethernet RJ-45's coming out of my router, I figure I can disconnet them from my Macs and dedicate one to providing service "downstairs" and one to "upstairs." THis, I figure, is better than getting a 4+ port Router, because I would much rather run ONE RJ-45 cable upstairs than two... and I think my wife would certainly agree with that(!). ...but WHAT do I use now to connet the two Macs (7300/7600) to the "downstairs" RJ-45, and the Wallstreet and the PeeCee to the "upstairs" RJ-45? Switchs or Hubs? And should I get some by the same brandname as my 2-port router? Thanks, Craig W. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
