Hey,

Sorry if this is OT but I didn't feel it was necessary to join another list
just for one question (assuming that it is OT).

I have an 8500 series w/ 256MB RAM, 5Gb Hard Disk etc etc..

I have just bought a Sonnet G3/400 Upgrade card for it, for which I followed
all the instructions when installing (it was new and sealed beforehand) -
Once the installation was finished (and after I had removed the L2 Cache and
Pressed the CUDA) I switched her back on and...Nothing.

The hard disks seem to spin up and some other stuff happens, but I get
nothing on the screen and No chime.

...So, I go to troubleshooting section in the Manual and it says to reseat
the card (which I tried), and remove the L2 Card (which I already did), so I
slam the old 180MHz card back in there and it works fine..... I put the G3
back in and.... Nothing.

I really have no clue what to do. I'm told I can return it and get a refund
but I want to make absolutely sure that I can't get it working before I do
anything like that.

Cheers,

Phil
