i've got 2 zip SCSI 250 drives ,
at one point  the 1 in service wth my 7300  just didn't want to use 250's
but was fine with 100's,

i actually phoned up iomega UK about it ,
if you look at the  250 & 100 carts  underside you'll see the 250 has a
reflective panel,
the sensor in the drive uses this to tell difference it seems ,
if the sensor gets dust on it etc it gets confused & turns into a 100 drive,

clean up sensor  & it may help things out ?,
