Have you got a mac USB mouse? You say the card does "not work" but not sure of what tests, presumably your printer? The mouse is a simple device, from Apple and you may have one around, if it does not work with the cards you have then yes, the card or slot would likely be a prob, as long as you have the USB extensions turned on... (Do look to see they are actually in the ext folder and not in the disabled ext folder) As for Epson printers, I would not be wholly confident relying on their non performance on this matter...
