Hi,

I got this Crescendo NuBus card at eBay, installed into a 6100. I got a ""Sorry, a system error occurred - Crescendo - bus error..."

I have another 6100 with a working Crescendo NuBus card in it, so I pulled the working card from this computer, plugged it into the other 6100 and it worked. It seems, therefore, the problem is with the card I got at eBay. I also noticed the deffective card has two or three green wirings on it, which the working card has not; and one end of one of these wires is loose -- it should be soldered somewhere.

Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Well, the little green wires are "trace" wires used at the factory to run leads to spots that
the card's etchings failed to complete the circuit to.

Look at the card's components near where the shape of the loose green wire lets it lay
if it's still bent in the position it laid, and see if you detect a small spot of solder on a component.

If so it's an easy fix. If not it'll take a tech to tell you where it went.

I'd want to go back to the eBay seller and eBay and file a complaint, unless you got a deal too hard to pass up. But a non-working accelerator isn't a bargain for anyone.
