I find a good way to keep pics and show them is simple html. You have unlimited control (including text, yes, you can even add music) and it looks good and is cross platform par excellence, all you need is Simpletext or any plain text editor and all will show up in any browser, you know, as a web page or pages with whatever navigation you want. You can burn to CD, and forever, anyone with a browser will be able to view the pics... Photoshop 6 and other prgm can do these things automatically for you if you can't or don't want to by hand (eg. in PS6 you can put all the pics you want in a folder and command the prgm to make a web archive for you, you can specify general size of the pics...) I say all this without really knowing about all the things iPhoto can do, so excuse me... But I have not seen anything that requires it so far...
