Tell me about it; there is only like one tab left on that case that I
haven't broken off: case, PCI card retainers, drive bay cover, thingie
that keeps the back of the case on, thingie that keeps the bottom of the
case on, even the thing on hinges in front of the CPU and PCI cards
(actually, that one was removed intentionally). Even the power button
broke off, but you can buy new power buttons pretty cheap on eBay (Ol'
Mac Milt, I think is the seller who has them cheap--shameless plug, I
don't know him nor profit from dropping his name).

There's something to be said for aluminum or thin steel cases,
especially the ones that fold over the edges so you can't cut yourself
without trying. Thank you, Apple, for making non-plastic cases now!

Would be nice (six PCI slots, more drive bays, ::drool::), but the 8500
does have a nice shape and size--it fits perfectly under my table next
to my computer desk. Someone is giving me their broken 8500 off-list,
so if need be, I've got another case to replace this one. A 9600 would
be about as tall as my PC, and I don't have anywhere to fit another one
of those.
