I have an Epson 1200 printer that has a Mac serial receptacle but no network receptacle. I would like to connect it to my home Ethernet Appletalk network. I also have a Mac 7500 computer I'm not using that has both serial and network receptacles. I understand that such a machine can be used as a print server to accomplish that task. How is that done? And since the 7500 will be connected to the network, can it then be used for other tasks as well, or must it be dedicated to the printer?
