Hi, Listers!
I'm using my 5500/225 (400 MHz G3, 128 Mb, OS 9.2.2) as an alarm clock, to wake me up in the morning.
I have iTunes 2.0.4 installed, and AppleCD Audio 2.5.2 is configured to automatically play music CDs.
This is my problem: I'd like to wake up to the sweet sounds of "Positively 4th Street" from the "Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits" CD. (Don't ask why.) However, the first song in the CD is "Rainy Day Woman #12 & 35", too noisy to wake up to.
I used the "Program" button on the AppleCD Audio program to arrange the songs to my liking, but it doesn't take. When I restart, the first song of the CD starts playing, instead of my selected number one song.
I tried to use iTunes with the same result. In this particular computer, MP3 files play with small pauses while accessing the hard drive, so I do not use it for that task.
Is there a way to "program" a CD so it will play first the song that I want? An Applescript, maybe?
By the way, the PRAM battery is dead. Does it matter?
TIA
Hugo Diaz
An Applescript will work.
open the disk in iTunes and select something, then type this into the script editor:
-- start script
tell application "iTunes"
selection
end tell
-- end script
copy the numbers from from the results window into this script:
-- start script
tell application "iTunes"
play track 4 of audio CD playlist id 8209 of source id 8208
end tell
-- end scriptsave as complied script
Replace the battery.
Download "iDo script scheduler" and use that to run the script at a predetermined time.
