The reason why I am asking is that: The font I want to use is *not* on the proportional list, but on all the other lists.

My reference says that two standard Mac fonts are monospaced.

You might find alternate versions of the same type face in a graphics program. or word processor program.
Or you could use a font viewer or graphics program to look for a very similar type face to the one you like.
