The reason why I am asking is that:
The font I want to use is *not* on the proportional list, but on all
the other lists.

 >Now I have another question.
 >How can I use the same font in the web browser for everything
 >including the proportional?
 >How can the browser know that the font is proportional or not?

My reference says that two standard Mac fonts are monospaced.
> Courier and Monaco. Others unless otherwise noted are proportional.

So it is Courier or Monaco ?

You might find alternate versions of the same type face in a graphics program. or word processor program.

Or you could use a font viewer or graphics program to look for a very similar type face to the one you like.
