Subject: [PCI] getting AppleVision 1710 working again!

G'day
I've got an Applevision 1710 that came with pm8500. Just recently,
it's screen first started loosing its shape (ie warped) and reduced
in size every now and then. Now, it all just went blank altogether.

Is there anything can be done to fix this before throwing it away!!

I had a 1710 monitor that behaved well for several years but began acting flaky. I took it to my Mac repair place, and they showed me 4 others that had been donated by their owners when they learned how much it would cost to fix them. I took the hint and donated mine, too. It was cheaper to buy an LCD monitor; they are moderately priced now, as well as lower in weight. Try the Clearance department of the Store at the Viewsonic web-site for refurbished ones.
