OK, I got it wrong interpreting your question, thus my first sentence. The
second now looks wicked - even to me! But don't blame the list... On the
whole this list has the most lovable and friendly bunch of regular guys and
gals that ever associated together in the recent 40 million bloom of human
evolution. Even the members who occasionally scrap make up in the most
extraordinary way... Let me tell you: two fellers had words a while back and
what would you know? They are godfathers to each others kids now and send
cuddly emails back and forth - to each other not just just the kids (hey!
How embarrassingly friendly is that?)

Describe the "awful sounds" you experienced, there are a range of sounds
that Macs make. Perhaps this article might help:
