Hi all PCI-powermac listers;
Long story short, my feelings are that if you want waste huge amounts
of time, just try getting working equipment from these guys. I don't
know if they are crooked, totally incompetent, or both, but their
returns voicemail is often overfull and the end result to the customer
is the same. I don't feel picked upon, I think they are really very
bad at the service they say they provide.
Hope this helps someone from making a mistake.
-Brian
I ordered some software from them as well as some
light-up LED pens and there service was excellent.
Hi Brian,
Sorry to hear about your troubles with them.
I ordered some software from SurplusComputers along with
some novelty light-up LED pens and my experience was great.
As far as hard drive nightmare stories though, I bought an
SCA 80 pin hard drive + adapter from MacResQ and had
some difficulties getting it to show up on my PowerMac 7500.
I think that the term "SCSI voodoo" definitely applies whenever
you try to hook up any hard drive to a PCI powermac other
than a 50-pin drive.
Joe
