I have a 9600 with a non-stock Twin Turbo 128 4 MB card. I want to put a Radeon 7000 for MAC card in this machine and was wondering if I could run bath to get dual monitor function. the Radeo only has 1 port
Could I run both?
Depending on any other pci cards you may have installed, you can run up to 6 video cards with 6 monitors in your Mac all at once
How do I get picture to both as split screen . Or does this only work when one card is used.?
I would like to have menus on one and work on the other in Photoshop.
Just hook them up and go to the monitors control panel (assuming you are in OS 9 or 8) and you will see a representation of all attached monitors. The desktop will automatically span all the monitors and you can arrange them by dragging the picture of the monitors around. You can also move the menu bar to whichever monitor you want.
What are the potential cons of this idea?
Expense of the cards and monitors, getting spoiled by all the screen real estate, the envy of any of your pc loving "friends" that marvel at how easy it is to set up dual monitors and how it just works on the Mac.
Those are all the cons I can think of.
