yes it should work no problems. I did this to update 10.0 to 10.1 on my upgraded 7600. If you're worried about the upgrade, just do an 'archive and install'. An upgrade CD just means you have to have an eariler version of OS X on the machine, unlike the full version where you don't need anything installed.
