No disagreement with your advice regarding the original posted dilemma. It is
clear and to the point.

However, I do have a question regarding the Apple branded CD-ROMs that
shipped stock on these PCI Macs, where are the termination jumper pins?

I am holding a SCSI ApppleCD 600i in my hands and do not see a set of
"termination" pins to jump. There is a set labeled "TERM POWER" and they are
jumped
(default setting).

bus but is not the same as "termination" (a resister at the end of the
chain). What am I missing?

I have used these CD-ROMs in the middle and at the end of the SCSI chain in
this default setting of term power without problems which leads me to believe
there is passive termination built into these CD-ROMs. However, I have found
nothing to verify this.
