I have a hard-wired home Ethernet network with 3 7x00 Macs (OS 9.2) and 2 HP laser printers on it in various parts of the house. I just upgraded one of the printers to a HP LaserJet 4M Plus that has an internal Ethernet card, but I can't get it to work on the network, although it puts out a good self-test page by itself. I will appreciate help with finding out what to do.

The new printer has the name assigned by its previous owner. The Apple System Profiler on any of my computers still shows the name of my replaced printer. I tried to change the name by means of the HP Printer Utility, but it doesn't recognize the new printer. The Chooser shows LaserWriter 8 as the printer driver, as it should, and when I click it the Chooser shows only the other networked printer as a choice.

Thank you in advance. --Art.
