I am wondering if any here is using the PowerLogix
PowerForce 750GX G3/1GHz CPU upgrade? I have this
installed in my 8500, but unfortunately with a
Radeon
PCI video card (the original, not the 7000) I am
getting video corruption in the menu bar and all
dialog boxes under OS 9.2.2 when the Radeon is
activated (ie, extensions turned on). Within one
minute of booting, the Mac freezes. With the ATI
extensions turned off, the CPU upgrade runs without
problems. However, this is not an acceptable
solution,
as I cannot function without 2D/3D acceleration.
Just would like to know if anyone else is using this
CPU upgrade.
Forgot to add that the Radeon card has functioned
without problems for the past three years with a
Sonnet Crescendo 400MHz CPU upgrade. The crashing
problem(s) started when I installed the PowerForce
1GHz G3 upgrade.
I have contacted OWC (where I bought the card) but
they are not at this point providing me with any
usefull information.
TIA.

Ok,Ok! There is a 1 GHZ accelerator for the Pci Macs ! I hate when I do that!
But it doesn't sound like it functions too well !
( sorry Gordon my apologies)
Which makes it sound like the manufacturers were wise enough to let
oof on development.
Does that sound close enough to an Eric Idle style cop out ?
(wink,wink,nudge,nudge !)
