I have been given an NEC Silentwriter LC890 laser printer that I want
to connect to my 7500 running OS 9.1. I'm having trouble figuring out
which ports and which cable I should use for the job.

What documentation I have for the printer says it has the following
interfaces: Centronics, RS232, RS422, and Apple LocalTalk (9-pin).

The cables I have are the following:

1) a cable with a nine-pin female connector on one end and a round,
eight-pin male connector on the other. Just before each end there's a
cylinder about an inch long and a half-inch in diameter. The round
connector has an icon of a single arrow. At intervals on the cable is
printed the following:

LL84201 CSA AWM I/IIA 80C 300V 28AWG FT1 COPARTNER

There's no other identifying information.

2) a cable with identical round, eight-pin male connectors at each
end. On each connector is an icon with a pair of arrows in opposite
directions. No printing or other identifying info.

3) a cable similar to 2) above, except with no icons.

4) a cable with a 25-pin male connector, and a eight-pin male
connector. The eight-pin plug has an icon of a single arrow. No
identifying info.

So do I have what I need to hook these two dinosaurs up? I have a
handful of other cables, but I'm pretty sure they're all SCSI, and
the printer does not have a SCSI interface (again, according to the
docs).

Thanks for any help.
