A G4 at 466 MHz in a 7500, humm?

I used a XLR8 MAChCarrier card that came stock with a "G3"466 MHz ZIF (10X
multiplier of the 46.6 MHz bus) for a number of years without any problems. It
was super but would get unstable if pushed much above 466 MHz even thought the
G3 ZIF CPU was rated at 500 MHz.

I have read that certain G4 ZIF's will run at 450 MHz (9X multiplier of the
50 MHz bus). For example see:

And I suspect other G4 ZIF's will most likely also work at 9X (450 MHz) speed
in this XLR8 carrier card but I never had funds to test this. It was cheaper
for me just to buy a used APG G4 from the LEM Swap List. --glen (digest mode)
