*continuation of "[PCI] MAC 8500 won't boot", plus install CD/copy/questions.

I had similar no-boot prob's w/my PM8500; tried many tips of other listers,
some which I listed on the Re: to the above post. I tried each suggestion, but
when
using different HDD's w/OS8.1 and lower, the 8500 came back to life, somewhat
shaky, but has seemed to slowly get better. Since then, I have lost menu clock
display (can access Date&Time c/p, but won't show on d/top). Also, can't access
PC Exchange c/p, DialogBox says "PC Exchange is not installed. To install it,
place it in your Control Panels folder and restart computer." I've done that and
tossed their prefs from system folder and copied c/p's from other HDD, still
will not load. Will get new c/p's from OS8.0 Install CD, to see if that works.

I have OS 8.6 Install CD 'copy', but install won't finish, says "has problem
reading
the Tome". Then, after dragging separate System Folder items to HDD, to go
around
proper install, it says "You cannot use copied items for startup drive! Mount
CD".
I am awaiting a lister who may send 8.6 & 9.1 test copies (same prob.may occur).
Does anyone have OS 9.1 Install CD, to go on a PM8500, poss. w/9.1.x+ update to
sell to me? I need 9.1.x+ to use SanDisk Reader/Writer, to dn.ld. 400 digital
pics
from 128MB SD m/media card. Or OS 8.6 InstallCD, to dn.ld. from/with camera.
Meanwhile, does anyone know trick/s to get an OS 'copy' to load? Or is this
NoNo?

I'd stay w/ OS 8.1 bec. of it's size and my smaller HDD's, but need + for cam
apps.
Concerning Install CD/s, please contact me directly. Any help-posts appreciated.

TIA, YooperJim Kilponen
