Andrew, i card is a SIIG - the other a Starlogic Platinum card, by Fourstar in Taiwan. Bought it here in Canada.

According to the literature with my Starlogic card (Slot B1), all ports are 2.0 compliant, but I can only use them as 1.1- OS X 10.3.9 sees them as USB 2.0, but can't read any USB 2.0 devices. The SIIG was only USB 1.1 to start- got that one early on.
