I also have one of these Twin Turbo cards, in an 8500 (or what was
once an 8500). I'm using an old adapter for another brand of PC
monitor and although I can't remember what I did, it starts up in
exactly the resolution that I left it in. I had the loss of
preferred resolution problem for quite some time and took many
pointless steps to resolve it but in the long run it was the
particular VGA adapter that I used that fixed it. Hopefully this can
be of some help to you :)
