Has to do with how you initialized that 18GB. Seen your story it must be HFS
(normal). If you make it HFS+ (extended) you will not have this problem.
Long story, so search the AKB or google for: ' "Difference between HFS and
HFS+" '.

Simply use some strips of double-sided tape.
