As I recall I used AOL's IM 4.1.2.3 (or something relatively close) and it had the voice chat aspect included. I liked it, but having no friends, I had no one to talk with ;-( I am sure that I have the installer around on a disk somewhere. I'd be happy to forward it to you. To answer your question, I'm fairly certain that I was using that version on either a 6100/60 or a 7300/200, the former being a Nubus sys and the latter being a PCI version. I cannot guarantee its functionality as I have a G4 and the iSight (not that I have any use for it, but just in case)

What machine are you using? How much ram is in the machine? How are you connecting to the internet? I'm not sure if I was using dial up or DSL, so it might make a difference, however, I am not sure as it was several years ago.

Probably not an OS 9 version of iChat, IMHO.

Does anyone know of an alternative OS9 chat program that is AIM- compatible?

I've already tried AOL Instant Messenger (4.3 and 4.7) and it crashes my Mac whenever I enter the chat mode. I've tried AOL-IM on several different classic Macs (Nubus/PCI - all OS 9.1) and it does the same thing every time. It opens the chat window and works fine for a few seconds than - Bam - Major Lockup - Total Reboot required. IM works fine, though.

I don't think there was ever a version of iChat for OS9, was there?
