Hello list, We have a problem in a school installation of Skolelinux, where the users home directories are mounted via NFS V3.
While pcmanfm detects and displays changes from the CLIENT such as file/directory creation and deletion in a directory on NFS immediately, all changes initiated from the NFS server are completely ignored, i.e. if I add or delete files in the users home directory on the server, pcmanfm on the client will not care and act if nothing has been changed. Even changing directories to and back dows not help. This happens with or without attribute caching, also NFS-Caching on the client side does not play a role, and gamin or fam settings are not helpful either. The only way pcmanfm will reread the current directory is by restarting pcmanfm. >From researching about this topic, I found that it is a commonly known problem, yet there is no apparent solution. It seems there is just no easy way to let pcmanfm know about changes initiated from the side of the NFS server. Therefore my request: If it is not possible to easily detect changes on NFS, maybe we could have a "reload" button that will reread the directory contents manually?
