Yes, I have gvfs installed.  But I am not the one reporting the issue
(actually, requesting the "enhancement" that already exists) :)

Lubuntu 11.04 includes the gvfs-backends package by default.  That
package includes the file /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-smb you mentioned.
