    It still require vala if you edit some headers in sources. You never
did that so you never ran into it.

    Tarball is distributed with generated C code, it's just my tests in
the confugure script to fix problem when git code couldn't be compiled if
no vala compiler found despite configure didn't fail were incomplete.
I've fixed that few moments ago. I'm sorry. You can apply the fix from
commit 4782de14efff7d923093d455af62a036a0b0f9b0.
