Does Win95 have the system file checker? If not, I have a
95 cd here somewhere and I can email the file to you.

Hello all,
A friend of mine in another state got the W95.MTX.dr v*rus
this week. Yes,
she has Norton Systemworks, with antiv*rus. No, she was
not running it.
Norton utilities was able to quarantine and repair parts of
the problem.
She was not able to access any of the virus sites on the
web.
I emailed her a "tool" named "fixmtx.exe", that was
suggested on the SARC
page. She ran this tool. Somehow she has now lost her
WSOCK32.dll.
Fortunately, I have never had to go through this
experience, and do not
know how to advise her to get her .dll file back.
Could someone walk me through this? She can no longer
access her browser
or email program. She does have her Win95 CD. I think she
has a boot
disk, along with current "rescue disks" from Norton.
Where does one find this file, and how do you go about
extracting it and
replacing it?
Thanks for any instruction (which it's about time I
learned).
