SMP refers to a computer with more than one central processing unit (CPU),
where each processor is treated exactly the same by the operating
system--that differs from Asymmetric Multi-Processing, where processors are
dedicated to special tasks.

Windows 2000 supports SMP but the results have been less than illustrious.
However, MS will try to show you otherwise.

The Multiprocessing OS/s that are best known are UNIX and OS/2, not Windows.
