No a DVD drive cannot take the place of a CDRW
drive. But it can take the place of a regular CD and do the same job....
How would they then make cdr and cdrw disks? A DVD drive cannot take the
place of a CDRW
drive....they of course cannot record data to a cdr or cdrw disk. Only
recently there are DVD RAM
drives, but these are rare, very expensive and are not compatible with CDR
or CDRW disks or CDRW
drives.
