You're not dreaming. I believe the specific instructions were to take the
keyboard into the shower. I did this with three, and two of them recovered
completely.
On the other hand, keyboards are way cheap.

A friend just rang to say she had poured a whole glass of water over her
keyboard at work (accidentally of course) after which it typed a load of
garbage. She left it overnight, but I suggested she turn it upside down
tomorrow and shake it, then try and dry it out gently with a hair dryer. Is
this good advice? Will it ever recover or will the contacts be ruined for
good? I think I remember someone somewhere (possibly on this List) saying
that a keyboard can actually be washed ... or was I dreaming? ;-)
