I have had two problems for at least six months. They occurred at separate
times. I caused them
by deleting files or moving folders to a wrong place.

 1. If I right click on the windows start button the words Open and
         Explore are grayed out.

 2. If I put a short cut on the desk top the icon goes on
in pairs. I can put one in the trash bin. When
I try to delete the other I get system error message 1026
When I look at properties it is grayed out.
When I reboot.......that icon will disappear............

My computer runs perfectly except for the above. I have not wanted to
reformat
and have just worked around these problems. I do a thorough scan disk
from DOS
McAfee on line clinic is my v*rus protector. I recently have run
RegCleaner 4.2
