Hi all, I am running the program Gator in startup on my Dell Pentium Pro Computer with Windows 95. I have run this Gator form filler application for several years without problems. However, in the past few days, WinDoctor (a part of Norton SystemWorks) which runs in the background monitoring my computer has intermittently detected a disk error referable to Gator. When I run WinDoctor to diagnosis the problem, this is the error message it reports:
Missing or Invalid File/Key: The Key "SOFTWARE \Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run" refers to a Registry value "Gator" that points to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\GMT\Gator.exe", an invalid startup command. When I let WinDoctor fix the problem, it reports the problem fixed, however, it keeps recurring. In addition, I have noticed that the Gator icon in the system tray or toolbar in the lower right hand corner keeps disappearing. If at all possible, I would like to avoid deleting the current Gator program on my computer in order to download it again fresh to my computer because the current program has numerous login names and passwords stored in it that I would hate to lose. I am a novice computer user and would appreciate any help you all could provide. You can't be too specific or simplified for me with my limited knowledge. Thank you very much.
