If you get the ####### indication in a cell, that means that the cell size is too small to show the format that is selected. In Excel, you should be able to select either Number and set the decimals to zero or select Text and the number will now appear as text. One item about the text mode is that the alignment will be to the right rather than the left as it would be in a number formatted cell.
