Batch files are for more than kiddie scripters to run code on a user's machine. Windows itself uses them (DOSSTART, AUTOEXEC, BOOTDISK, etc), and they are great tools to use to run many useful things on your system. We use one at work on our network that gives everyone the option to run an update of their anti-v*rus definitions when logging on. I've run them to do quick partial "back ups" of a hard drive, clean up folders, even back up my favorites in IE or NN to floppy disk. Do a search on the internet for sites that will teach you how, and you would be amazed what you can do with them. Once you get the hang of itpick it up, it is really very easy!
