Frank:

Be sure you are using the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) In the mail
server to connnect too. You would most likely not have needed that before.
With a router you will.
Before the router mine would get mail using just pop-server.
With the router I had to enter the server as pop-server.mn.rr.com
