Without any other special equipment these are some distance limitations:
1. Ethernet 10BaseT (CAT 5) is 330 feet (100 meters) (specified by IEEE 802.3)
2. RS232 Serial cables (EIA/TIA-232 signals)
2400 baud -- 200 feet -- 60 meters
4800 -- 100 -- 30
9600 -- 50 -- 15
19200 -- 25 -- 8
38400 -- 12 -- 4
3. IEEE 1284 Parallel Cables -- 30 feet (Original PC using SPP was 6 feet)
4. Mouse and keyboard -- 6 to 10 feet (2 - 3 meters)
