To permanently remove the checkmark in front of "Always open with this
program" edit the registry.

Start -- Run -- regedit
Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\openas\command
Open the string named (Default) and add %2 to the end of the string.
The modified string should now look something like this:
C:\WINDOWS\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,OpenAs_RunDLL %1 %2
