Hi Guys, Attempting to upgrade/solve problems with the P100 Machine not reading the DVD Disk, Here's what I've done:
Upgraded the OS from win95 to win 95A This did not solve the problem. Then I installed a new hard drive, and copied the contents of the old drive to the new drive. The software that came with the new Hard drive said the bios did not support the drive and installed EZbios to make it work. I then upgraded the BIOS. (guess I should have done that first :-)) The Program (ShopKey) in question worked fine, but still was not able to read the DVD disk. Next, I upgraded the OS to win 98 (leaving FAT 16). Now, the program would not run, but the DVD disk could be read. Now comes the questions. Is there some reason WIN95A should be unable to read the DVD Disk? Running win95A and looking at the disk properties, it showed a capacity of 1.16GB, and the same disk under win98 showed a capacity of 7.11GB. So there does not seem to be a hardware problem involved at all...there must something that win95A cannot do that win98 can as far as the dvd is concerned. Perhaps a setting that I have overlooked? Suggestions, anyone?? Thanks, Marlene PS. I put the old HD back in, and am able to run the older version of the program, but still no go on the newer version that uses DVD. ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
