Depends on how your current drives are setup. You're not giving enough info on the drives or you board. If the zip drive is IDE, you can't do it. A max of 4 IDE devices is all that can be connected on a typical mobo. Your current HD is the primary master, but I don't know how your other drives are connected. IF they are all IDE, and you must hook up another HD (you have to remove the zip) and for best results, you'd jumper the new HD as a slave and hook it to the same cable the HD is on. Then have the CDRW drive as the SEC (secondary) master and the CDROM as SEC slave. You don't need a zip with a CDRW drive. IF the zip is parallel port (or USB or other), then of course it wouldn't figure into the equation.
If you must use all of these devices, and all are IDE, your only alternative is an add-on IDE controller card and you would hook the HD's up to it, one on each channel as a master. -Clint God Bless Us All Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Electronics" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I want to set up a second hard drive on my machine does anyone know of a Web site -for information or is there a simple procedure-I'm just not sure how you configure it ..my system has CD ROM/CD RW/zip drive/floppy drive and the one hard drive..any help greatly appreciated -Tony Electronics Inc 7027 Hwy 441 Dillard GA 30537 706 746 3353 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
