Zoom makes USB modems. I'm sure other companies do too. I have a zoom modem that I use as an emergency spare. Works pretty well. You can see them at http://www.zoom.com/products/usb-modems.html . As with anything else these days make sure your system is compatible and that drivers are available. I notice on the Zoom site that with WinXP Zoom recommends a 700 MHz + processor for one of their modems.
