Yeah, ChainSAW support s*cks as do many of their boards. :-)
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. "Entering
the BIOS violates the warranty"???????? Sounds like something
Dell or Gateway would pull! (Sorry, don't use XP).

Yes Clint, I remembered it about half a second after I sent it
too :/

So the slotket works properly and the cpu is running at the
right speed.

The reason I had difficulty stemmed from the OEM who put
together the
machine in the first place, they had put a password on the
BIOS but failed
to give it to the customer. After calling their support staff
they informed
us that entering the BIOS violates the warranty, plus they
recommended a
different mobo as a possible fix. Check off another large firm
I WILL NOT
RECOMMEND, the nerve of some people.

So now XP home edition comes up with an error: "A problem is
preventing
Windows from accurately checking the license for this
computer. Error code:
0x80070007", at the logon screen. In Safe Mode it just loops
at the login
screen.

MS and other sites recommend editing the registry which I
cannot reach
outside of using ERD Commander which allows the registry to be
edited, just
not sub tree's I need. A nice catch-22 :(

As an added feature, no version of XP will run to repair the
installation,
the only alternative is to wipe it fresh and start clean. One
of many
reason's why installing XP is a pain.

So if anyone might suggest an alternative, I would really
appreciate it.

Thank you,

Peter Kaulback
