Check your Win XP. There is a transfer wizard that will bring all of the information
over to the new
machine. I ran across it when setting up my Satellite 1410 this week. I don't
recall exactly where
it its, but use the help and keywords File Transfer or Transfer wizard. The parallel
cable has to be a
file transfer cable, not the standard parallel cable. On your win 98 machine, you can
find out more
about it by going to the help and looking for Direct (as in Direct Cable Connection or
DCC). You will
see that altho its called a parallel cable, there is a swap of a couple of the wires
on one end.
