What I used to be able to do in ME & '98 for temporary internet files (TIF), was open the dedicated partition I created for the TIF folder, click the explorer view so I could then see contentIE5, delete it, then 'select all' in the TIF folder, deselect the cookies I need to keep, then 'delete'. That simple. This is what I'm trying to do in XP. :-)
In XP pro, I was able to move the TIF folder to it's partition ok. However, on XP the contentIE5 folder is NOT moved along with it! Which totally defeats the purpose of moving the TIF folder to it's partition. Does anyone know how to move it (heck, there are FIVE of them scattered all over the place), so does anyone know how to move ALL of these to the TIF folder? What's up with all the annoying duplicate folders in XP!!!!! Now oddly enough, accessing the TIF folder from "internet options" in the control panel or from the browser bar, the familiar + sign IS there where the contentIE5 folder used to be on '98 & ME, but it can't be expanded! Why is this? I hoped that trying to delete the contents of the TIF folder by clicking the "delete files" button in the internet options would dump at least the contents of all of these contentIE5 folders, and to my horror, like '98 & ME, it does not! So how the heck is one supposed to clean their PC and delete these spy cookies, scripts, and other garbage that is in the contentIE5 folders? Surely we don't have to manually search every time for "contentIE5", open each of the five of them, and delete the contents that way.....that's horrible.
