I recently fixed this problem for my sister who was using IE6 and OE6 with Windows 98 (not 98se) What finally solved the problem was replacing oleaut32.dll and urlmon.dll with the original versions from Windows 98. But before doing that, try these ( the first one worked temporarily for my sister)
1. Opne any folder, click View >Folder Options > File Types and look for URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol Highlight it, click Edit, then highlight Open and click Edit. Make sure the application used to perform action is: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome Then check the other settings. DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have: DDE Message: "%1",,-1,0,,,, Application: IExplore Topic: WWW_OpenURL 2. If the above is correct, click Start>Run, type: regsvr32 Urlmon.dll and click OK.
