Hi. Thanks to Clint and Ed for trying to help me with this problem. (Clint,
thanks for telling me that I should not erase a message from someone elsetype
mine in and sent it to the group. Now I know that I must pull down a new
sheet to ask for help.)

With your input I finally figured it out. Now I have my solid blue welcome
screen and don't have to click on anything to get passed it! For anyone else
who may have this problem, this is what I did:

START/CONTROL PANEL/USER ACCOUNTS/.....AT THE BOTTOM OF THE USER ACCOUNT PAGE
ARE ICONS OF ALL YOUR USERS. AS I AM THE ONLY USER OF MINE, I SHOULD NOT HAVE
ANY GUEST USERS, BUT I DID!! THE ICON OF THAT STRANGE NEW GUEST WAS THE SAME
ICON OF SOMETHING I DOWNLOADED THE OTHER DAY AND HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO DO
ANYTHING WITH IT. I CERTAINLY DIDN'T KNOW THAT IT PUT A NEW USER IN MY USER
ACCOUNT. I REALLY HAVE FORGOTTEN WHAT IT IS. ANYWAY, I DELETED THAT ICON AND
REBOOTED MY COMPUTER, AND VOILA.......NO MORE SPLIT BLUE SCREEN. ANN

Below is my original email to the group:
Hi, I have a new problem today. I use Windows XP and Outlook Express
and am on cable. Before today, when I boot up each morning, it would go
through the XP sign, the blue WELCOME sign and end up with my desktop
showing.
Today, instead of the full blue screen with welcome on it, I get a split
screen with welcome on one side and a box that says OWNER on the other side. I
have to click on owner before I can get to my desktop. I am used to going
straight to my desktop after I first turn on my computer. What have I done?
Ann
